Welcome to our website! As we have the ability to list over one million items on our website (our selection changes all of the time), it is not feasible for a company our size to record and playback the descriptions on every item on our website. However, if you have a disability we are here to help you. Please call our disability services phone line at 636-394-2220 during regular business hours and one of our kind and friendly personal shoppers will help you navigate through our website, help conduct advanced searches, help you choose the item you are looking for with the specifications you are seeking, read you the specifications of any item and consult with you about the products themselves. There is no charge for the help of this personal shopper for anyone with a disability. Finally, your personal shopper will explain our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service, and help you place an order if you so desire.
About Us
Since January 1, 1980, Jim and Linda Shubert have been building this business with persistence and dedication. They launched the venture over 30 years ago as newlyweds with two hundred dollars and an idea.
Linda Shubert, the creative and merchandising entity of the team, uses her interior design background to equip the store with the industry’s finest merchandise and personnel. While Jim Shubert is retired now, he has a team that keeps all the moving parts working. Our goal was to create the American dream for our employees and ourselves.
Shubert Design is not the biggest design firm or the largest retail furniture distributor, but well-respected in the industry. We never advanced our business via leverage or loan. We grew naturally by slowly building up a solid financial base. Today, because of our strong foundation, we are able to negotiate better deals with manufacturers and pass the savings along to our customers.
I have been in the furniture and interior design industry for over thirty years. I do design work for our St. Louis-based customers, but I also do interior and commercial design around the United States. Upholstered pieces, case goods and accessories are all hand-selected for their quality and value. My goal is to offer the highest quality merchandise at the best value. Come in and enjoy our beautiful displays.
Kirsten Wyman is one of our full-time designers with over 20 years of experience here at Shubert Design. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Interior Design from Southeast Missouri State in 1995. She is a designer in demand with a specialty in space planning. She loves helping her clients pick the perfect furniture for their wants and needs. Whether you need a house full of furniture, or that one special piece to complete your room, let Kirsten make your house into a home.
I have been working in the field for 20 years. I love helping clients make the right choices to create a beautiful and warm, cozy home. I do this by creating an atmosphere people want to spend time in by infusing family antiques or a special piece from a vacation with newly acquired pieces that reflect a families’ lifestyle and truly makes it feel like home.
For the last 17 years, I have enjoyed working with designs that cross many style lines, infusing them with a fresh take on classic designs. I love creating and embracing today’s modern look with minimalizing style to make your home beautiful.
Making your home a place of beauty and function is one of the most gracious ways to express yourself. Our home allows us the unique freedom to be surrounded by our favorite colors, textures, and objects. Ultimately, it’s the one place where we can provide for all aspects of our personality – the sophisticated and the simple, the warm and the cool, the bold and the introspective.
I have been in the furniture industry for over 30 years. I hold a BA in Art and Design. Furnishing your home should not be a chore, it should be enjoyable. Whether you come to our showroom, or you would like for me to personally visit you in your own home to assist you, our collaboration should result in a beautiful home for you and your family to enjoy for years to come.
